Macintosh error message: -4100

-4100 is not a particular PostScript error. It is a general error number Macintoshes running MacOS 7/8/9 use for communication problems encountered by the Print Manager. On an OS X machine this error message is not used.

Solutions

If you are attempting to print from a Macintosh to a Novell queue, and the Novell queue is located on a server that you are not currently logged into, a -4100 (Printer not found) error will result. The queue will list under the Chooser, but the actual printer will not be visible in the selection of available printers. Log into the server that the queue runs on to solve the problem.

Sometimes the error can be solved by rebooting your Mac or reinstalling the networking software that got corrupted.

You can also try to print using another LaserWriter driver.
