During a prior visit to the Selexyz Dominicanen book store in Maastricht I had photographed the overall structure of the church, the book aisles and visitors. More recently I had a fast 85 mm lens with me, which allowed me to take a different approach and take some more abstract pictures. It all started when I noticed the moiré pattern caused by the interference between two steel grills.
The pattern in those grills also made it fun to blur out the background. Here you see three rows of books turning into colorful abstract patterns.
Making blurry pictures on purpose can be fun. Here is one of the visitors checking out a book.
That was my catch during this visit. Next time I’ll make sure to have a fish eye lens with me. Thanks for watching!
