Offending command: stroke

A PostScript error offending command stroke is caused by complex or corrupted paths, paths with complex fills and outline strokes, or a converted PICT graphic.

Solutions

  • If the PostScript error is a ‘limitcheck’ then a graphic on the page is too complex for the RIP. Increase flatness, split paths, simplify the graphic or lower the resolution of the RIP to solve the problem.
  • I found one report on the web where somebody mentioned fixing this problem in Distiller 6 by turning off Norton Antivirus. That seems an unlikely fix but maybe this is memory related and the antivirus software somehow limited the resources available to Acrobat Distiller.
