In 2010 I was working on an editorial system which came with its own built-in DAM or Digital Asset Management system. Metadata were very important within that system but after viewing thousands of files I realized the majority of files don’t really contain that much additional information, at least not information that is put there with a specific purpose in mind. Out of curiosity I put a poll on the site to ask people about their use of metadata.
